About Us

PYA is an organization dedicated to instilling a joy for learning within children. The PYA program is open from 3:00-6:00 p.m. four days a week in three learning centers serving K-5 and middle school students from the Clay Street, Princeton Community Village, and Redding Circle communities. By providing youth with homework support, one-on-one tutoring and mentoring, as well as enrichment activities, the goal of the program is to improve theparticipants “engagement in school,” their scholastic self-confidence, their academic performance, and their participation in the community. At each site, a “site” teacher’s time is leveraged with trained volunteers, teaching assistants and work-study students.
