    ARCHELON was established in 1983 under the name The Sea Turtle Protection Society of Greece, and it is a non- profit association aiming at the conservation of sea turtles and their habitats in Greece It's main activities are monitoring and research, rescue and rehabilitation of sick and injured turtles. and raising public awareness.

    More than 500 volunteers participate each year in ARCHELON's sea turtle conservation projects.

    Volunteer / Internship Opportunity

    Protecting sea turtle nesting activity at 7 locations in Greece:

    Zakynthos

    Kyparissia (West Peloponnese)

    Gytheio (South Peloponnese)

    Koroni (South Peloponnese)

    Rethymno (North Crete)

    Chania (North Crete)

    Messara (South Crete)

    Participation period:

    From May to October (at least 5 weeks)

    Tasks:

    Sea turtle nest management and habitat protection

    Public Awareness and fundraising

    Maintenance and day to day duties

    Applicants must be prepared to live in communal life and campsites and be in very good health and physical state due to the projects' physically demanding tasks and living conditions.
