    Alias Women our Roots (AWOR) is an organisation helping empower women and girls to restore their dignity and respect.

    'ALIAS' Women are Our Roots is a Registered organisation in Uganda to empower women economically, education, reproductive health and environment management. Alias (in Ateso are roots). Women are the roots of mankind and therefore desire to be treated with respect and dignity. Thus promoting women respect and dignity in Uganda.

    We are a Non Profit organisation purposed to empower women and girls through: 1. Promotion of education

    2. Economic empowerment

    3. Leadership

    4. Household and environmental management

    5. Reproductive health promotion (adolescents and women)

    Through research, information sharing, capacity building and Mentoring. We are currently operating in Uganda. We work with communities promoting gender equality and women empowerment (GEWE) i.e. to end violence against women and children (VAWC) and economic empowerment. Promotion of education especially for girls is one of our priorities. We are empowering the beneficiaries trough skilling with economic skills in their organised small saving groups. We also do mentoring of girls in school and young women building their focus in life. We also teach them on menstrual hygiene and management.
