  • About Us

The Consumer Voice was founded by Elma L. Holder in 1975 to protect the rights, safety and dignity of America’s long-term care residents. We advocate for public policies that support quality care and life in all long-term care settings, including nursing homes, assisted living and at-home care. The Consumer Voice empowers and educates consumers and their families by providing them with the knowledge and tools needed to advocate for themselves and their loved ones. We also advocate for a strong direct-care workforce and promote best practices in delivering quality long-term care, supports and services.
