About Us
The NELA Impact is a free virtual tutoring service started by Eagle Rock High School students in North East Los Angeles. The program operates by recruiting volunteers and assigning them to students who would benefit from their areas of knowledge. Our mission is to improve the access to personalized, one-on-one education during the COVID-19 pandemic as it is increasingly difficult for children to receive quality instruction. We offer tutoring in Spanish as well, and we hope to reach Latino communities who have been more severely impacted by the pandemic. We are especially in need of tutors who are bilingual (English and Spanish).
