About Us
At Literacy New Jersey we are dedicated to working with adults who need help with reading, writing, math and speaking English. We particularly focus on those who need help at the most basic levels. Our volunteers are trained in working with adults and our staff are experts in adult literacy.
In addition to providing direct instruction in eight counties (Union, Middlesex, Mercer, Burlington, Gloucester, Sussex, West Hudson and Ocean) we also provide technical, managerial, monetary and advocacy support to our affiliate organizations throughout the state. Between Literacy New Jersey and our affiliates, instruction is available in every county!
Some of what we provide:
- One-on-one and small group tutoring for basic reading, writing, mathematics, and English language.
- Small groups for practicing English conversation.
- GED and citizenship classes.
