Starting Blocks

Starting Blocks works to break down class barriers by providing social capital to students in alternative high schools. We accomplish this by teaching students the fundamental skills of life, including interpersonal, professional and financial literacy. We also connect students with mentors who provide one-on-one interaction and real-world perspective on in-class exercises. Finally, we are developing a growing network of community members who provide additional support in the form of informational interviews, job contacts and classroom career presentations. Starting Blocks is a Catalyst for Youth Fiscally Sponsored project.
