    The Southwest Wetland Interpretive Association (SWIA) is dedicated to wetland acquisition, preservation, restoration, and education in the Tijuana River Valley.

    About Us

    The Southwest Wetlands Interpretive Association (SWIA) helps to protect the Tijuana River National Estuarine Research Reserve in Imperial Beach, CA. Volunteers for SWIA are especially active in restoring habitat, cleaning up beaches, and educating the community about local environmental issues. SWIA also raises funds for Reserve projects and administers grants to restore damaged wetlands.
