    The mission of The Compassionate Friends, USA is to assist families toward the positive resolution of grief following the death of a child of any age from any cause and to provide information to help others be supportive. As the world's largest self-help bereavement organization, there are nearly 600 chapters of The Compassionate Friends throughout the United States welcoming bereaved parents, siblings, and grandparents. Among initiatives of the organization are The Worldwide Candle Lighting the second Sunday in December at 7 p.m. local time, Compassionate Employer Recognition, and The Compassionate Friends Walk to Remember. The Compassionate Friends has a national presence in approximately 30 countries around the world.
