VALLEY ASSOCIATES FOR INDEPENDENT LIVING INC

It’s that time of year again to start recruiting for our 2023-2024 Ready To Achieve Mentoring Program (RAMP). This past school year was the first cohort and it was awesome! We even have students asking if they can participate again! Meetings are a combination of in-person and virtual. We are in need of mentors of any age!!!

RAMP is sponsored by DARS and facilitated by Valley Associates for Independent Living (VAIL). This is a great opportunity for students with disabilities to improve social skills, make friends, learn about community resources, and explore careers. RAMP runs from October - June. Note - it is completely free!

RAMP was developed to serve at-risk youth. Our criteria include students with disabilities, students with disabilities who are justice-involved, and students with disabilities involved with the foster care system.

DARS works with individuals with all types of disabilities. Examples include mental health disorders, intellectual disabilities, developmental disabilities, learning disabilities, substance use disorders, and physical disabilities. If you are unsure if a student you are working with fits the bill, reach out! Students must be under the age of 22 and enrolled in high school or a post-secondary educational program.
