Reverence for Life/Music for Life

About Us

Reverence for Life/Music for Life,” an April 2007 celebration of music, service, and advocacy that will peak in a Global Wave of Music on Sunday, April 22, 2007 – the culmination of Global Youth Service Days and also Earth Day 2007.

This initiative celebrates the legacy of service of revered physician, musician, and Nobel Peace laureate Dr. Albert Schweitzer. It unites the Global Youth Action Network, the Earth Day Network, Nobel Peace Prize laureates, musicians such as Yo-Yo Ma, and our own co-founding organizations. It aims to build global support for youth service, and for efforts to Abolish Weapons of Mass Destruction, Mobilize Tools of Healing, contributing to the global Culture of Peace for which the world yearns (see www.unesco.org/iycp/).

All that needs to be done in order to join is sign up any service, music, or advocacy event during April (or beyond) by registering it at www.reverenceforlife.org. Each event will be marked with a sunflower on the digital map of the world that you can see by visiting http://www.zeesource.net/maps/map.do?group=29863; a link to this map can also be found on our site. Let’s fill the world map with sunflowers! We look forward to hearing from and working with you.
