HANDI-DOGS INC

The Rescue To Service Program is an integral part of Handi-Dogs Inc. We collaborate with rescues and shelters to find dogs that have what it takes to become a service dog. We help dogs looking for Forever homes to potentially become a service dog trained to help a person with a disability.

Foster homes are needed to care for and help train these dogs. Fosters will take their foster dog to a training class once a week and practice what they learned throughout the week.

We ask that our fosters give us insight into the socialization and temperament of their Pup as it's revealed through their daily interactions.

This is an extremely rewarding experience for both the people involved and the dogs.

It differs from other foster opportunities in that the dog and the foster parent receive training, the dog potentially builds a bond with a disabled person and as a foster, you get to see the progression and offer your input!
