Over the last 22 years, we have distributed 43,000 computers to low-income East Bay families, and diverted over 800 tons of e-waste from landfills in the process. Our core program is distribution of our digital inclusion solution, which connects low-income families who are "digitally dark," by providing them with a free computer, free tech support, and assistance accessing affordable $10/month internet. Tech Exchange’s core programming also includes partnership work with schools and other nonprofit agencies serving low-income populations, both through equipping them with free or affordable hardware, and through digital literacy trainings. We provide internship opportunities to prepare Oakland youth for careers in tech, with a focus on hardware repairs and customer service. Lastly, Tech Exchange prioritizes environmental stewardship through our electronic reuse model.
