SHCC is a registered Cambodian NGO that provides a safe environment for over 1500 disadvantaged children in rural villages. These children and their families experience astonishing poverty and hardship on a daily basis, for this reason, families are unable to provide an education and opportunities for their children. SHCC offers free educational and vocational opportunities for these children, empowering them and giving them hope for a brighter future.

SHCC are leaders in providing sustainable development which directly benefits not only the future generations but their families and wider rural community. This is achieved through educating younger generations now and supporting these children and their families to become self-sufficient and sustainable for the future.

SHCC offers education in subjects which are more applicable to children living in rural Cambodia, providing them transferable skills which they cannot only use within the village but that will assist them in furthering their job prospects in town or provide the opportunity to go onto higher education if they choose. English Classes, Kindergarten Classes, Computing, Arts, Crafts, Music, Sports, Organic Farming, Hospitality, Social Work aswell as education on hygiene, nutrition and environmental issues. And for some children a place to live.

Since opening just three years ago our role has grown from 250 to 1500 children. Before coming to SHCC many of these children had never had social interaction, most could not read or write and many were in extremely poor health and all were victims of tragic circumstances, living in poverty. Their future was bleak, now they are looking forward to a bright future full of possibilities.

SHCC does not charge any fees at all to their volunteers as we believe that you generosity in giving your time and energy to help us is more than enough. We also recognise the expenses incurred to our volunteers with their travel expenses. We do encourage our volunteers to fundraise for the school before they depart your home country, if you can.
