SouthernCare Hospice provides palliative care to our patients so they can live their lives to the fullest for as long as they can. Our Volunteers are an important part of our team that serves our patients and families. They provide invaluable services by giving freely of their time and talents. This may mean relieving the primary caregiver at times by making friendly visits to patients and families, reading, listening, errands, etc. Volunteers can also assist with activities at facilities or administrative needs in our office. A short orientation/training is provided. We accommodate the time schedule of the volunteer. All volunteers who have direct patient care are given a tuberculosis screening and CPR training is required. Volunteering as little as an hour a week can provide the assistance a patient and/or family needs at a time when they need it the most.
