MAJANI PROJECT
Mission
Our objective is to introduce Black and brown youth to genealogy as a way to empower, increase resilience, and and strengthen identity.
About Us
Majani Project is a 501(c)(3) organization that teaches youth about family history. We organized in 2020 and launched the website in 2022. After a move to Ward 7, Washington DC last year, we've expanded our aims to include a social enterprise component where we intend to develop a pilot program using genealogy for youth workforce development. The goal of this initiative is to increase economic equity in underserved areas.
