    The Muscular Dystrophy Association is a non-governmental organization dedicated to fight and cure the 43 muscle-related disorders affecting the health and lives of their family members. Founded in 1955, MDA has funded medical research to continue break-through researches in the field of neuromuscular and genetic disorders. The MDa also holds various events throughout the year, such as the MDA muscle walk, shamrock, jail break, and MDA Summer camp to help patients who suffer from the disease a better quality of life through service referrals, home care visits, and community involvement to raise awareness around the US.
