    The Coalition for Schools Educating Boys of Color (COSEBOC) was founded in January 2008 to promote success in educating boys of color. It utilizes a series of strategies to carry out its mission, all designed to support educators who are on the front lines, nurturing boys of color to succeed. They include:  Identifying and promoting standards of excellence for schools educating boys of color  Convening educators to discuss standards and issues in educating boys of color  Providing professional development that prepares educators to utilize promising practices rooted in research  Supporting research to build understanding of successful practices for educating boys of color  Disseminating research and promising practices
