ANCOR

About Us

For more than a half-century, ANCOR has worked to shape policy and share solutions to strengthen the ability of community-based providers to support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our 2,000 members operate in nearly every corner of the country to make inclusion a reality for people of all abilities.

We offer leadership and representation for the needs and interests of private providers before Congress and federal agencies, continually advocating for the crucial role private providers play in enhancing and supporting people with disabilities and their families to live full lives and be included in their communities.

We provide organizational, professional and leadership development, plus networking opportunities to share innovations and leading practice in service delivery, in addition to creating partnerships and collaborations that support our members in offering quality supports and services.

Our goal is to be the indispensable leader, resource and advocate for a diverse private disability services network that ensures full citizenship and engaged community participation for people with disabilities of all ages.

The change we envision is monumental. Luckily, we’ve developed a roadmap for how we’ll get there. That roadmap includes goals to:

  • Influence responsible federal public policy to protect and promote quality services and supports.
  • Obtain resources to attract, expand and retain a quality workforce.
  • Be an invaluable resource to equip providers and partners with understanding and increased capacity to respond to impacts, opportunities, emerging practices and trends.
  • Shape the future of service delivery models and measures to ensure sustainable services.
