Nanticoke Watershed Alliance

  • Mission

To conserve the natural, cultural, and recreational resources of the Nanticoke River watershed for the benefit of present and future generations.

    About Us

In June of 1992, Maryland and Delaware conservation organizations reached across state lines in a formal agreement to create the Nanticoke Watershed Alliance. In 1995, the Nanticoke Watershed Alliance decided to establish itself as a nonprofit organization and become a consortium, i.e. an organization of organization.

Nanticoke Watershed Alliance works throughout the Nanticoke River watershed in a number of projects. We partner with homeowners, homeowner associations, organizations, and farmers to conserve our resources and improve water quality. We track water quality by monitoring 35 sites in the Nanticoke River watershed and release an annual report card that examines the health of the river and its creeks. We educate seventh graders in Wicomico County in water quality and other related issues.
