    Our mission is to offer accessible, quality services to at-risk children and families. We accomplish this by providing comprehensive services that strengthen families, foster self-sufficiency and develop the health and well-being of children and the family unit.

    About Us

    Youth Service, Inc. (YSI) is a non-profit organization that has provided immediate shelter and support services to Philadelphia’s children and families for over 60 years. We offer unique programs and niche services in locations across the city. Youth Service, Inc. operates the only Crisis Nursery Programs in Philadelphia and runs the largest teen shelter in the area for homeless and runaway youth. Through shelter, counseling and in-home support services, Youth Service, Inc. reaches 5,000 children and adults annually, ninety-two percent of whom live below the poverty level.

    YSI Offers:

    • Emergency shelter for homeless and runaway teens
    • 24-hour emergency care for young children
    • Group home for teen mothers and their babies and pregnant teens
    • Parenting skills and counseling
    • Truancy prevention
    • Family-based services in the house
