Starcross Community

Starcross is a small, independent, multi-faith community of lay-people living peaceful lives in the contemplative tradition. Founded in 1969, we are nestled in the coastal hills of Sonoma County and strive to be a sanctuary for both people and nature. We do our best to live by Meister Eckhart’s words, that “what we acquire in contemplation should be spent in compassion.” This has meant many different things for us over the years. In the past we have adopted and been caregivers for many children with unique gifts and needs, most of whom were born HIV positive. We founded Houses of Hope around the world for children impacted by the AIDs pandemic. We also seek to help those in our local community who are in need and underserved.

We have cherished more and more the relationship between spirituality and nature. We produce Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil and farm sustainably for ourselves and our community on our certified organic garden and orchards. We view our homestead as a sacred space for friends living out their spiritual vocations and have hosted many WWOOFers and seekers in recent years in our farmhouse.
