United Way of Greater Atlanta's DeKalb Opportunity Zone

  • About Us

The DeKalb Opportunity Zone (OZ) is an initiative of the United Way of Greater Atlanta to improve outcomes in health, income, education, and civic engagement in Clarkston and Scottdale areas within the County. Two key programs to this end are the E3 Leadership Academy and the NET Program. Monthly meetings are held to guide the program with numerous community stakeholders participating including nonprofits, government, university, health institutions, housing institutions, and grassroots community leaders. Other components of the OZ include a mini-grant program to support collaborations between area residents and nonprofits, as well as direct coaching support service to a limited number of OZ families (the participants in the E3 and NET programs).
