About Us

Habitat for Humanity brings people together to create and preserve homeownership in our neighborhoods, to partner with hard-working families to be successful homeowners, and to inspire action that promotes affordable housing for everyone in our community.

We're best known for our Homeownership program where volunteers build and rehab simple, quality homes in partnership with families with lower incomes and the community. We sell the homes with affordable mortgages making a 30-year commitment to each new homeowner and to the community in which they live. We also preserve homeownership by helping homeowners repair and maintain their homes through our A Brush with Kindness (ABWK) program.

Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity has hosted AmeriCorps members to build and repair homes in the 7 county metro area since the first member was sworn into service back in September of 1994. Members help the affiliate provide positive and meaningful experiences for its volunteers.

Yeah year a group of members begin their term of service in early September, March 1st or June 1st. Please visit our AmeriCorps Program website to learn more.
