  • Mission

Founded in 2019, The Centre for Faith, Art, & Justice was established as the 501c3 nonprofit arm of the First Baptist Church in Jamaica Plain (FBCJP) to serve as a community destination for marginalized residents from throughout greater Boston. The Centre leads multicultural, intergenerational activities reaching more than 1,100 residents weekly.

    About Us

The Centre’s Food Justice Program is one of its most prominent initiatives and is facing an organizational crossroads. Throughout the last year, the program has witnessed food insecurity needs triple across target communities. Currently, 82% of food insecure residents in Suffolk County are living below SNAP and the federal poverty threshold. The Centre is making a measurable difference in meeting the needs of these food-insecure neighbors by: Delivering 2,400 hot meals/month to community neighbors Delivering 1280 boxes of groceries and 1280 bags of fresh produce to 320+ families per month. Distributing more than 1,300,000 pounds of food to the community through the in-kind support of over 200 volunteer preppers, packers, and delivery volunteers
