    Our mission is to protect and nurture Point Lobos State Natural Reserve, to educate and inspire its visitors to preserve its unique natural and cultural resources, and to strengthen the network of Carmel Area State Parks.

    Long considered the "crown jewel" of the California State Park system, Point Lobos State Natural Reserve is a magnet for nature lovers from around the world. With its breathtaking beauty, fascinating wildlife, and inspiring and knowledgeable volunteer docents, Point Lobos is a place where one can escape to the serenity of nature at its best.

    The Point Lobos Foundation protects Point Lobos’ environmental health by funding the model volunteer docent program, trail maintenance, facilities, school programs, invasive plant removal, and research to protect the unique resources within the Reserve.
