About Us

El Centro para la Biodiversidad Marina y la Conservación A.C. (CBMC) es una organización sin fines de lucro cuyo objetivo principal es generar, promover y difundir el conocimiento científico de una forma objetiva. El CBMC está vinculado al Instituto de Oceanografía Scripps y al Instituto para México y Estados Unidos (UCMEXUS-UCR), y lo conforman un grupo de científicos, estudiantes y profesionistas de múltiples disciplinas e instituciones, dedicados a generar y difundir información que permita entender las conexiones entre los ecosistemas marinos y las comunidades que dependen de ellos. Nuestro trabajo se concentra en el noroeste de México, aunque participamos de forma activa en zonas como el Caribe y el Pacífico Mexicano. Somos socios del Programa Marino del Golfo de California (http://gulfprogram.ucsd.edu/).

We are a non-profit organization aiming to generate, promote, and disseminate scientific knowledge in an objective manner. CBMC is linked to the Scripps Institution of Oceanography and the Institute for Mexico and the United States (UC MEXUS-UCR), and is formed by a group of scientists, students, and professionals from multiple disciplines and institutions dedicated to generating and disseminating information to understand the connections between marine ecosystems and the communities that depend on them. Our work is concentrated in northwestern Mexico, but we participate actively in areas such as the Caribbean and the Mexican Pacific.
