Volare is one of the nation's largest nonprofits offering free, direct legal and advocacy services for victims of crime. Since we opened our doors in 2012, we have built a holistic support network that has served more than 11,000 survivors throughout the entirety of their healing journey.
Volare is founded on the principle that survivors of crime deserve the empowerment to define what justice means to them. We call this "survivor defined justice," and it is at the heart of everything we do. This means that Volare’s team of trauma-informed advocates, attorneys, and staff work together to support and empower our clients to achieve justice how they define it. This can look different for every survivor and can include: reporting the crime, receiving emotional support, obtaining financial assistance, or seeking alternatives to the criminal legal system.
Volare welcomes all survivors of crime. We welcome all sexual orientations, genders, gender identities or expressions, income statuses, races and ethnicities, religions, immigrant statuses, countries of origin, and abilities.
