Watoto Wa Africa Orphanage

Watoto Wa Africa is a Christian, faith-based organization located in Mwanza, Tanzania, committed to caring for orphaned and vulnerable children who have been placed under our care through the government social welfare system. Our mission is to demonstrate the love of Jesus Christ in practical ways by providing children with a safe home, nutritious food, clean water, clothing, education, medical care, and spiritual guidance.

We believe that every child deserves dignity, protection, and the opportunity to reach their full potential regardless of their background or past circumstances. Through holistic care, education, mentorship, and life-skills training, we aim to raise responsible, confident, and hope-filled young men and women who will positively impact their communities.

We welcome compassionate volunteers who are willing to serve with humility, respect, and love. Whether supporting education, health, agriculture projects, administration, skills training, or mentorship, volunteers become part of restoring hope and building a brighter future for children in Tanzania.

Watoto wa Africa is a voluntary, not-for-profit, organization. Our aim is to improve the welfare of vulnerable children and to provide for their basic needs (shelter, food, clothing, education medical care, etc.) and we have 86 children in our orphanage.

To see each child in Tanzania, and Africa at large, flourish in an environment of peace, support and stability. At Watoto Wa Africa we are dedicated to a child’s protection and development. We believe all children should be given the right to develop intellectually, emotionally, and spiritually, as well as to play and have a fun, safe childhood.
