Love Begins At Home

Our Mission is "to elevate the access, variety, and quality of healthcare services for historically oppressed and otherwise marginalized communities as a result of their race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender, education level, employment, physical ability, criminal history, and/or immigration status."

Love Begins At Home is a non-for-profit organization originating out of Orlando, Florida, with a mission to improve access to high-quality healthcare for historically marginalized communities. At the heart of the organization we strive embody and display the words of Mother Teresa, "Love begins at home, and it is not how much we do, but how much love we put in the action that we do." The organization, also known as HOME, is a grassroots effort that works to empower and serve communities such as populations that are transatlantic descendants, LGBTQ+, and low-income communities.

With a predominantly Black and Queer board, with a staff that has a Licensed Therapist with 10+ years of experience, a dual certified Attorney/CPA, and Social Worker (MSW) with 10+ years of experience in Urban Development/Social Equity. We strive to make impact within ourselves, who serve, and how we serve. Our available and focal services are rapid HIV testing and counseling, mental health counseling/therapy, and medical/pharmacy services. Among these services include outreach and sex education (support groups, workshops, peer services). HOME has participated in various forms of outreach such as PRIDE Orlando, National Black HIV Testing Day, and local partner/tabling events. Therefore, HOME is looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic, and open-minded volunteers who have a desire to spread our mission and engage the community. Individuals who are passionate about growth, community, and service as we continue to grow.
