Youth Empowerment through Learning, Leading, and Serving, Inc.
The mission of YELLS (Youth Empowerment through Learning, Leading, and Serving, Inc.) is to empower you to rise as active, healthy, and productive servant-leaders within their communities.
We serve youth in the Franklin Road community in Marietta, GA through our positive youth development programs. We're located in donated space in two apartment complexes, so we are truly part of our youths' community.
Our YELLS Mentoring Program matches high school "Bigs" with elementary school "Littles" and provides the leadership skills and workshops to empower them to design youth-led service projects to impact their community. Our high school "Bigs" learn and practice leadership in action as they plan and facilitate each of our weekly sessions and workshops. We're always looking for adults to serve as "Networking Coaches" for our Bigs. These adult volunteers help guide Bigs as they develop service projects.
Our YELLS Community Action Cafe Teen Program equips teens with leadership and life skills as they manage our Cafe as a community hub and work to positively shape their neighborhood. Adult volunteers are needed to serve as both tutors for academic support and leadership mentors to coach our youth as they lead large-scale community initiatives.
Our YELLS Afterschool Program serves elementary youth daily. We provide academic, recreational, leadership, character-building, and arts and enrichment activities for youth. We are looking for community partners and volunteers to deliver unique, dynamic, and interactive activities and workshops for our Kindergarten - fifth grade youth. Also, we need volunteers to assist daily with activities and homework help.
