The Ardmore Library began through the efforts of the Women's Club of Ardmore in 1899 with six dollars, 300 books and a rented room. Today, we welcome over 90,000 visitors a year from all over the Main Line. We are heavily engaged in fulfilling our goal to build an educated workforce, so crucial to those who want and need to learn English and finish their education.
The Ardmore Library is a busy and productive place. Despite being located in the affluent Lower Main Line, our niche in the Library system has been to spend much of our staff time and financial resources on early learning and literacy. Even in this age of technology, not everyone can afford to have a computer, or may not have the funds to be able to afford access to the databases that will help them find a job, or research a school project, or even know where to begin looking for information.
