The Englewood Back To School Parade (EBTSP) has been a jewel in the Englewood community for 64 years and counting. Education has always been the focus of the parade. There is a parade procession through the streets of Englewood and a picnic finale at Ogden Park located at 6500 S. Racine in Chicago, IL. In addition to promoting the importance of staying in school to school age children within the community, the parade creates a sense of pride and promotes a day of peace.
Each year over 3,000 residents and businesses from Englewood and the Chicagoland area participate in the parade festivities.
On parade day volunteers are needed to assist with crowd control, food preparation and park logistics. Please see website for more details on the specifics of each volunteer position.
Our Vision is to create an annual event that strengthens community bonds, promotes local talent, promotes education for our deserving youth and inspires pride in our shared heritage, while encouraging participation from all ages and backgrounds.
Parade Mantra: "Focusing on the Possibilities not the Circumstances"
Historic Theme: "Education is the Key to the Future"
