  • About Us

The Matilda Joslyn Gage Foundation is a is a 501(c)(3) non-profit entity honoring Gage through educational and interpretive exhibits, activities and events.

Susan B. Anthony, Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Matilda Joslyn Gage shared leadership roles in the 20-years of the National Woman Suffrage Association (1869-1889).

We are a historical home museum in a suburban Central New York village and a global hub for social justice dialogue.

We serve a diverse community, educating about marginalization and the oppression which Matilda Joslyn Gage challenged. Each room in the house is dedicated to a story of injustice and a demand for change: The Haudenosaunee, Women’s Rights, Underground Railroad, and Religious Freedom. The Oz/Family Parlor (as Matilda was L. Frank Baum’s mother-in-law), Library, and Gift Shop share different stories. The Gage Center allows people to make the experience of their visit their own.
