The Y is a nonprofit like no other. That’s because in 10,000 neighborhoods across the nation, we have the presence and partnerships to not just promise, but deliver, positive change.
The Y is community centered. For nearly 160 years, we’ve been listening and responding to our communities.

Our Impact is Felt Every Day
With a mission based on Judeo-Christian principles, the YMCA of Metropolitan Detroit is a Michigan 501(c)3, secular not for profit community organization dedicated to putting its principles into practice through programs that build a healthy spirit, mind and body for all. Our impact is felt when an individual makes a healthy choice, when a volunteer mentor inspires a child, when a community comes together for the common good.
