About Us

Le Laboratoire Cambridge is a culture lab highlighting contemporary experimental works of artists and designers at frontiers of science.  Since opening in October of 2014, the Lab has offered exhibitions, seminars, events, breakthrough products, and culinary experiences to the greater Boston area.  Modeled on Le Laboratoire Paris, which was located in the heart of Paris, France from 2007-2015, Le Laboratoire Cambridge is the new home of the Cloud ArtScience Foundation, the cultural innovation organization that in recent years has placed original works of art and design in museum collections and stores around the world, run the international education program the ArtScience Prize, and inspired Café ArtScience, the fine dining restaurant located at Le Laboratoire Cambridge.

Each year, Le Laboratoire Cambridge facilitates cultural experiments between leading artists, designers and scientists that lead to contemporary art exhibitions that are displayed at the Lab.  Often, exhibitions translate beyond their time in the gallery and develop into museum works, humanitarian interventions, or commercial products.  Collaborations and exhibitions at Le Laboratoire Paris have included such renowned artists and designers as William Kentridge, Mark Dion, Philippe Starck, Ryoji Ikeda and Mathieu Lehanneur, among many others.
