Bernie’s Rescue Crew is dedicated to reducing shelter overcrowding and preventing unnecessary euthanasia by providing a safe haven for dogs in need. We partner with our community to offer rehoming assistance, rescue at-risk dogs from local shelters, and support cases of neglect or cruelty — ensuring every dog receives compassionate care and a second chance at a happy, healthy life.

Bernie’s Rescue Crew is a volunteer-run, foster-based dog rescue based in the Greater Cincinnati area. Founded in honor of our beloved dog, Bernadette (“Bernie”), we are driven by compassion, community, and the belief that every dog deserves a chance to thrive.

We focus on helping dogs in need throughout our community — from those in overcrowded local shelters to pets whose families can no longer care for them, and eventually, dogs affected by neglect, cruelty, or hoarding cases. Our mission extends beyond rescue; we strive to build a supportive network of fosters, adopters, and volunteers who work together to create positive outcomes for dogs in crisis.

Every dog in our care receives individualized attention, quality veterinary care, and a safe, loving foster home while awaiting adoption. We are committed to responsible placements that ensure the best possible match between dogs and adopters, setting each rescue up for lifelong success.
