  • About Us

In the spirit of St. Vincent de Paul, St. Louise de Marillac, and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, the Daughters of Charity have a magnificent heritage that has flourished through close to four centuries. The Daughters of Charity form an international Community founded in1633 in Paris, France by St. Vincent de Paul, a humble parish priest who championed the cause of the poor, and St. Louise de Marillac, a devout widow of the French nobility who assisted in his charitable work.

Seton Provincialate, as the operational center for the Daughters of Charity, supports the Sisters and ministries of the Province in their service to those living in poverty. This support is given by providing a place for spiritual renewal through retreats and other events. Each Seton employee contributes to this through his or her various roles that enhance the spirit of welcome, and comfortable hospitality.
