  • About Us

The Rakai Community Based AIDS Organization (RACOBAO) is a not-for-profit organization operating in the Rakai district in Southwestern Uganda. Its mission is to prevent the spread of HIV infection and to alleviate the disease's negative economic and social consequences. Project activities include HIV/AIDS counseling services, access to ART treatment, training in entrepreneurial skills, and the provision of shelter and farming inputs.

RACOBAO, formerly a Lutheran World Federation project, is currently making the transition to an independent organization. RACOBAO hopes to have its own website at the time of this transition's completion, at the start of 2008.
