    Our mission is to provide free DNA testing for Black people.

    About Us

    Figur8tion is dedicated to offering free at-home DNA testing and genealogy services to Black people-descendants of the American slaves. We will offer curated records and tools that aid the Black community in locating ourselves in the narratives of the past while helping to define and heal our future, starting with DNA.

    Genealogy is not one-size-fits-all. Before 1787 Black people we were considered property, and our names were changed to agree with our slave owners. Post-1787, we were considered only 3/5 a person and improperly documented in census records. Searches for accurate Black ancestry takes a lot of money and or an extreme amount of time.
