    Rivendell Housing Cooperative was founded in 1973 with the forethought of establishing an intentional community to serve as an alternative to the typical landlord/tenant relationship. It is our mission to provide quality affordable housing while fostering an organization that enables members to work together for the betterment of our community. For more than forty years we’ve made our home in downtown Lansing. In 2012 we decided to expand–In keeping with our Lord of the Rings theme, we christened our new home The Shire.
