About Us

LAPPS (Latino Association for Parents of Public Schools) mission is to empower parents to be fundamental & active participants in their children’s education. Our vision is the collaboration between parents, schools & communities to promote success through equity & access in education.

LAPPS leads advocacy efforts for Latinos by recently collaborating with the Atlanta Public Schools (APS) Board of Education to pass the first language access policy in the state of Georgia. Also, through the creation and authoring of its APS Equity Report-State of Atlanta Public Schools is prime example of seeking greater levels of accountability and urgency toward systemic change within our own community.

LAPPS is at an inflection point and ready to add to its team. The organization has successfully positioned itself as the go-to parent educational Latino organization & thought-leader in the Atlanta Public Schools (APS) system. Our advocacy effort, mindset and passion come together to identify and empower our community to positively impact broader systemic change within public schools systems.
