Boston Educational Development Fund

BEDF is the K-12 education foundation to the Boston Public Schools (BPS). We facilitate access to philanthropic funding and private resources to sustain and expand educational opportunities for students, educators and families.

We partner with schools, funders, and the school department to provide fiscal sponsorship services to complementary programs and strategic initiatives that foster greater learning outcomes, such as academic enrichment, arts and health activities for students, leadership and professional development for educators, and engagement activities for families. Moreover, we provide fundraising support to schools and programs for them to sustain their operations and increase their educational impact. BEDF manages approximately $10 million yearly in private funding from local and national supporters and foundations.
