The Port City Pacers (PCP) is a local running club committed to promoting and encouraging health and fitness through participation in running and walking. Our races benefit local charities. PCP was organized in Mobile in 1979 as a non-profit chapter of the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA). It was founded to educate the local community about the benefits of running and walking.
The Port City Pacers produce the nationally acclaimed Azalea Trail Run. Since the first ATR in 1978, the 10K and the 1 and 2-mile fun runs have grown to attract a field of over 10,000 world-class and recreational runners, walkers, and wheelchair athletes.
Each year we produce a series of public races, including the Hurricane Run 5K, the Foodworld Senior Bowl Charity Run 10K and the Old Mobile 8K. The club holds meetings featuring programs about running and fitness. The club also publishes a monthly newsletter, the PaceLetter, to report race results, announce upcoming events, and share other news of interest to the running community.
