    About Us

Hospice provides compassionate, patient-centered end-of-life care.

At Heartland Hospice, we work to enhance a patient's quality of life, preserve their dignity, and support both patient and family/caregivers during a deeply personal time. Our Interdisciplinary Hospice Care Team provides physical, social, spiritual, and emotional care for both the patient and family/caregivers during the last stages of the patient's illness, through the dying process, and continues through the bereavement period for the family/caregivers.

Our Volunteers are essential members of our Interdisciplinary Hospice Care Team.

Some of the Volunteer's Responsibilities can include:

    • providing companionship and support for the patient and family/caregivers
    • helping with Office administrative tasks
    • writing supportive letters or cards

Volunteers work closely with the Volunteer Coordinator to find and monitor the tasks that best suit the Volunteer's skills and abilities, and meets the patient's and family/caregiver's needs.
