Literacy Connections of Wayne County
Mission
About Us
The core program of Literacy Connections of Wayne County is a tutor/adult student partnership program. A volunteer tutor is paired with an adult literacy student and are scheduled to meet for two hours each week to work on an individually targeted curriculum for that student. Our goal is that each LCWC student will make significant improvements in their reading skills within six months of program participation. Community volunteers may be active in many areas of LCWC operations: as community spokespersons, reading tutor/instructor, math or computer instructors, programming assistants, technology managers, media and public relations advisors, fundraisers, curriculum advisors...whatever a person's talent, there is a place for you as a volunteer at Literacy Connections of Wayne County.
