Since 2002 Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Brazos Valley (BBBS-BV) has addressed our community’s most pressing youth issues, strengthened the community, and built a tradition of success for adolescents facing adversity through meaningful mentoring relationships. More than 300 youth are paired with caring adult mentors in our community each year. Over time a strong relationship develops between the child and volunteer which helps to improve communication skills, motivation, academic performance, decision-making and many other resiliency factors in at-risk youth.
