Literacy Connects

Connecting people of all ages to a world of opportunities through literacy and creative expression. From birth throughout adulthood, Literacy Connects’ programs offers opportunities for learners of all ages to realize their potential at school, in the workplace, and as participants in our community.

Literacy Connects is a Tucson-based nonprofit. As a powerful voice for literacy, we connect individuals and groups from across the community to work collaboratively toward better literacy outcomes.

Our programs help young children become confident, lifelong readers and learners. We support adults in reaching their personal and career goals, and we empower youth to embrace writing and creative expression.

Literacy Connects by the numbers in 2024:

• 8,640 K-12 students improved literacy skills.
• 1,688 adult learners worked towards personal and workplace goals.
• 483 volunteers gave 35,708 hours.
• 134,043 books distributed.
