Story District

Story District is a Washington DC-based arts nonprofit run by a small, dynamic, and driven team of talented creatives. Our mission is to train and showcase storytelling talent in the Washington, DC, area and to be an exemplar of transformative autobiographical story performance as a way to enrich an understanding of the self and the world, build community, promote compassion, and highlights our shared humanity. Named the "gold standard" in storytelling by the Washington Post and nominated for the 2012 and 2016 DC Mayor's Arts Awards for Innovation and Excellence in the Arts, Story District reaches an audience of more than 10,000 annually through the production of more than 25 performances, ongoing adult education courses, and custom trainings and performances for businesses, nonprofits, and government agencies.
