About Us

Today’s university environment is a marketplace of ideas and experiences.  Depending on students’ spiritual and academic resources, these encounters can challenge or strengthen Jewish observance and commitment.  Because the overwhelming majority of Modern Orthodox college students are educated today at secular universities, the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America, better known as the Orthodox Union (“OU”), created OU-JLIC.  On 23 campuses across North America, OU-JLIC educators – Orthodox couples comprised of charismatic, gifted rabbis and their highly-accomplished, inspiring wives – enhance student learning opportunities and support the infrastructure in which Orthodox life can flourish. Skillful Torah educators, these couples present a positive, sophisticated, and welcoming face for Orthodox Judaism on campus.  They welcome all interested students – whether Orthodox or other Jews who seek deeper knowledge of Torah and tradition.
